Vicini inaugurated an internet hall which will provide free service to the New Guayacanes community, as part of the construction project of a housing complex being developed in that area.
Diario Libre – February 03, 2010. GUAYACANES, San Pedro de Macorís. This new digital space, provided for the educational development of the community residents and focusing on the various centers and schools in the area, will be opened seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Initially it will have nine modern computers with access to internet, besides all technological tools and furnishings required to provide this important service.
Attending the event were municipal authorities, from the Laura Vicini Barletta School, from the Liceo Juan Pablo Duarte, the Parents Association of the area, officials from the Vicini’s departments of Tourism and Real Estate, and from the Guayacanes, S.A. office, community residents, among others.
Mrs. Ingrid Teresita Vásquez, director of the School Laura Vicini Barletta, expressed her gratitude for the initiative, describing it as an important contribution for the students of the community, since it brings them closer to technology and gives them access to several resources for their education.
Mr. Julio Silvestre, director of the Liceo Juan Pablo Duarte, also expressed his gratitude for the hall and said that Guayacanes residents and students will make good use of this tool, which is one other step towards the development of this community which previously had no access to this type of facility.
The community received the new facility expressing their satisfaction and thanking Vicini for their initiative, emphasizing the significance this contribution means to them.
